Merry Christmas!
I got a Flyer NYC Hudson freight set for Christmas 1953. After a few years, I could not keep the trailing engine truck to stay on the track in reverse. Genius that I was, I decided that it might as well become a 4-6-0, and so it was after a little hacksaw surgery on the diecast boiler, and a brushed black enamel paint job (what did I know, I was maybe 14 at the time).
Fast forward 50 years: I still have the loco, still gathering dust, and still taking up space. I have not run it since about 1963, and don't know what sort of mechanical shape it might be in, except that it's missing the side rod screws on the rear drivers. I haven't opened it up, but I think the smoke unit is still there, and the E unit in the tender. And the original motor, of course.
Anyway, I have no use for the loco, and will give it to anyone who may want it or need parts from it. No charge, just postage. Anybody up for a challenge? Gary
Gary,
I sent you a PM.
I'll take it if it's still up for grabs.
