Hi, I am coming back to model railroading after 25 years and I realize that the world has changed considerably from my early days of model railroading. My layout when I was a teen was a completely Lionol O Guage layout. As I venture back into the hobby, I would really welcome opinions on the best manufacturers for the money for both trains and track. Any feedback on the different manufacturers both positive and negative would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any and all opinions
Hi
You didn't say what scale you are thinking of coming back to trains with? G? O? S? HO? N? Z?
That will make a difference in the advice you get.
-G .
Just my thoughts, ideas, opinions and experiences. Others may vary.
HO and N Scale.
After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.
Hi,
Sorry, I forgot to specify. I will be looking to build a O Guage layout.
mlachap,
You'll get a better response over on the Classic Toy Train forum. I'll move this thread over there.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
Howdy and welcome to the forum. Lots of folks with knowledge to assist you. If you wanted to poke around a bit using the seach tool you could try "which track" in the Search Community box. It yielded several older posts about this question. I'm using Gargraves with Ross turnouts but that is just me. I'm sure others will be here.......... you'll probably have to answer a few questions about just what you want your layout to look like. Your HO layout plan looked pretty neat. Enjoy the trains!
