Engines on ebay, they leave the foam on
Posted by Boyd on Thursday, December 10, 2009 1:58 AM

I have a search on ebay for "SD40-2". I see listings for older unused engines that are pulled out of the box for pictures but they leave the ugly packing foam strips on the sides and between the frames and the trucks. Why can't they take them off so I can see a good picture of whats for sale? Looks weird.

They're too lazy to remove it.  And if it was really important to you, I'm sure you'd find a solution such as asking them to post a picture with the foam removed or find another picture of the model.

I would bet some think that proves its new out of the box is why not sure but would bet. Me I'm like you it don't prove anything other than maybe there trying to hide something to later say they didn't know as they never took the foam strips off.

I dunno if they bothered to save the little foam inserts chances are the box and engine are in better shape.
