amtrack jack, your browser probably has the real player designated to play all video. these selections are user adjustable. sometimes when you install some software (like real player or an update to it) the installer will ask if you want the player to play all video. if you say yes, then it adjusts all those settings.

dave, how odd. they were made on a mac. i would expect them to play fine for you. what version of the OS are you using and what version of quicktime?

buckeye, the LM Big Boy whistle is not as "sharp" a sound as other whistles, including the LM Challenger. it is loud in the room, but does have a "muted" quality, perhaps because it is pitched lower and has more sound of escaping steam.

I chose your largest file to download. I use Roadrunner, which is extremely fast. The video took only 32 seconds to load and as Amtrak Jack indicated with his Real Player Program, my QuickTime program had to download something additional, but mine worked terrific. The chugging sound was very clear but the whistle sounded muted.

I would suggest putting your videos into a format used by Microsoft’s Media Player since more people have this than anything else.

You can see some of the videos I have made in the past and posted on this forum at the following url addresses:

http://www.gahannawedding.com/Video/IM000962.AVI

These were made with my digital camera which only does 30 second of video. Obviously you are using a much better camera, so keep up the good work and let us see some more.

I have DSl and it took 1:15 to download. Then REAL PLAYER came up and said that it needed to download new software to play the clip. It downloaded something, then nothing happened. Sorry.

Great layout though! I sure hope you have some hatches to get to stuff! As most of you know, I am very concerned about access as I boxed myself in a corner with no aisleways. Was fed through a tube until I could be sawed out![:D]

Hey fjerome, I'm using a dsl connection and have the newest version of quick time. I get the quick time screen with the film and the q in the background, but no movie. It takes a while for me to even get the q/film screen. It looks like a 35mm fil strip with a diagonal rip through the bottom right hand corner and the q stays in the middle. The bottom of the page says done but nothing.

Hope to be of some assistance.

I'll watch them all later on, I must go to work now. But from the first 3 videoformats I prefer the last one. Sound is in all 3 vid's great, but in the first small file the picture is too small to see any detail. The second on is as great as video three, but needs about 30 seconds to load. The third one starts immediately, looks great and the sound is super. CTT could take an example on how to make video's by seeing your vid's. Bravo!
(By the way, I work with a cable modem, so I don't use a normal phoneline)

i have added some video clips in different sizes and formats to my web page. i would appreciate it if a few of you could try it and give me your impressions on the download times, etc. i know i need to work on the videos themselves. i have discovered that (a) autofocus doesn't work well on something as "busy" as a layout and (b) it is hard to work the camera and the cab1 at the same time.

thanks.
