The burlington zepher I have is the 3 car cast alum. The differance is the decal on the front instead of the American Flyer Lines, It is acually the Burlington Route Logo. It seems 350 of these sets were ordered by the Burlington to run in each depot where the real train stoped. Mine was the set that ran in the Aurora Il depot.

The "War Baby Hudsons" look just like the 16?? (i forget the number) chicago hudson. except it is rubber stamped "449" on the cab. It has an AC Gilbert e-unit like is foud in the 3/16 o gauge and in latter s gauge locomotives. Also the lock-out lever sticks out a slit in the firebox on the right side (i think it is the right side).

My Flyer passion :)

All the American Flyer Steamliners. Including one that was special made for the Burlington.,

Which version do you have?  This one

or this one?

 A mint Geen Diamond,

This is the your Green Diamond:

2 hiawathas (dicast) one fright, one Passenger,

I am still working on the tin Hiawatha myself.  I'm not familiar with what the "War Baby Hudsons" are like.  Do have numbers of pictures of them.  It sounds like you do indeed have a passion for Flyer.  Welcome Aboard!

the small Hiawatha, Two "War Baby" Hudsons. (when AC Gilbert was not supose to make trains) one freight (cars are made of Chicago and Gilbert parts. and a passenger set chrome with 6 wheel trucks. I have all the 3/16 O scale locomotives. and that just scratches the surfice.

By the way I do make the spoon pickup shoes that were used on the last O gauge flyer locomotives along with the spring tensioners. if anyone needs them.

PhilaKnight,

Your 565 is a 4-4-2  - 3/16 O gauge, correct?

Trickel lists a leading truck and a trailing truck for 4-4-2 3/16 Atlantics in his catalog too.

Hello nwo4rf and  Sign - Welcome,

The 425 is a Type XVI boiler made in 1939 - 1940.  One source for American Flyer parts is Eric Trickel.  His email is TrickelCastParts@Yahoo.com.  He lists a number of parts in his catalog for this engine including side rods.  I am not sure about the gear for the bell ringer that you are referring to.  I have not done very much in the way of repair or restoration up to this point.  That is a goal for retirement.

Good luck in your hunt.  Tell us more about your Flyer passion. Wink

I have a 565 that needs both front and rear trucks. It's like a needle in a haystack. Went to a couple of shows and got the same answer "good luck finding them in good condition"  Looks like this mite have to go to the Lab and make my own out of Lionel parts.

I tried. As far as my research has gotten me is through some of his friends. Model Engeneering is not answering his mail, e-mail or phone call. It is rummored that the business is for sale but nobody can contact him to see if that is true.

Well not that despret... But still I am looking for complete valve gear and side rods for an AF 425 2-6-4 locomotive. I am also looking for The star wheel that activates the bell ringer for a 3302 locomotive. It seems that Model Engeneering is now out of business. So who is making these parts if anyone?
