sorry, I ment The non fixed voltage switch.
Thank you for posting the link. I think there is some good information there for future reference.
What does a section of Lionel 072 track cost now? The T-rail web site indicates that nice T-rail straights are $40 each.
You and I must be looking at different catalogs. Here are the prices from my '09 Signature catalog
6-65572 O72 Straight $6.29
65165/65166 O72 Switch $139.99
65540 90 degree crossing $18.99
Even for Fastrack, I see the following
6-12041 O72 Curve $6.89
6-12048/49 O72 remote switch $103.99
6-12019 90 degree crossover $22.99
I see 771 curves listed for anywhere from $12 to $25, depending on condition. 730 crossings are $40. The only thing where you might have a point are on the 731 switches, which are $100 for the ones with no fixed voltage plug. The current production Lionel O72s, though, have a FV plug, so you'd need to go to the later model 731, which is $162.
I was Looking on this website http://www.t-railtrack.com/track/ and found that a 70 year old pice of t-rail is cheapper than Lionel 0-72 from the 09 catlog. who would of thought?!?!?! 3 posts in a day that has to be a record. P.S. what is the amparge of pre post and modern trains?
