No. 1: "Hey, wait a minute! Just because I tumbled off a curve fifty feet down an embankment and am now structurally unsound, you're not going to gut me for usable parts, are you?!"

No. 2: In an effort to give computers human characteristics, researchers are attempting to make a sattelite run a grade crossing.

No. 3: "I used to haul the L&NER's highest ranking trains, now look what I'm reduced to."
--or--
No. 3: "Why can't he do this with some cheap download from Train-sim.com?!"

By the way, where did you get these pictures?

Dan:

All three were found at Google Images, although there are several pictures of FLYING Scotsman around.

After technical difficulties (ignore Dav's post "Only three images show up") with the original #4, a subway with Harry Potter junk all over it, I 've replaced it:

1. There's good news and bad news.

First the bad: My lashup partner left me for another.

Now the good: Fox TV has agreed to put me on "Extreme Makeover."

2. Freight train engineer to conductor:

"Joe, can't stop in time; we're about to crash into an Acela." (conductor looks in horror).

Engineer continues: "But the good news is that I've saved money on my auto insurance."

3. "Joe, I think we missed that 027 curve going thru Spankybirdville."

Dear Guilfordrr,
Is it just me, or is that cartoon an illustration of the joke about the gateman who waved his lantern frantically to warn the automobile, but it is not lit [:)]?!

Other caption:
No. 5: Knowing that many teenagers will practice poor grade crossing safety regardless, Operation Lifesaver has shifted its focus to elementary school students [:)].

I laughed when I saw the picture. The car was alomst as big as the train, and the gateman looks like he can pick them both up with his hands. (No offense to the artist!!- I'm no artist myself)
