Hi CPD

If you look at the wiring diagrams for the SC2 or ASC devices you will see how to use this or other accessories with an MTH AIU. To connect to both the manual switch and the AIU, you will have to parrallel the wires, but it should work.

Yes, a 96C controller is what was furnished with the bridge. The later plastic 90 controller will work as well. A door bell button is a good substitute. Very easy to hook up. Don't have an AIU but I assume it takes place of the controller or can be spliced in to the two leads of the controller

Are you looking for the switch?  It is a No. 96C controller, and is available thru Jeff Kane at the Train Tender, Olson's Toy Trains, or possibly eBay.

The left side of the controller connects to post 2 on the bridge, and the right side connects to post 3 on the bridge.

Bascule-Bridge Help
Posted by CharliePapaDelta on Sunday, April 26, 2009 4:09 PM

I have a very old Lionel Bascule-Bridge, however I am missing the device that attaches to the wiring posts that makes the bridge go up and down. Does anyone know where I can find one, or how to improvise one. Also, I would like to attach this to a MTH AIU for operation in command mode, however I have no Idea how to do this. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
