SMR and B&O Museum agreement
Posted by Bob Keller on Thursday, February 5, 2009 10:15 AM
A press release from SMR Trains:

Schneider Model Railroading, Inc. (SMR Trains), has signed a licensing agreement with the Baltimore and Ohio Museum to be the exclusive authorized producers of 0-gauge, 1:48 scale models of various 19th Century locomotives and rolling stock. The models will be limited-edition brass electric trains inspired by the museum's extensive collection of artifacts and documents and the historical legacy of the B&O Railroad.

Under consideration at this time are models of the "grasshopper" engine "Arabian" and the Norris 4-2-0 locomotive "Lafayette" as well as appropriate rolling stock. Final decisions regarding these models will be made after additional research and discussions with the museum staff.

SMR Trains is also soliciting suggestions from hobbyists as to their interests within the limitations of 19th Century railroading history and the connection to the B&O railroad.
