have a problem with the B&O style signal. Only the yellow lights come on? could the leds be burned out? on the red and greens? Cant find a wiring diagram anywhere. thank you in advance dave j

But, that is the sheet that came with the signal. It offers no insite as to how to replace the bulbs or the wiring for troubleshooting. So I was looking for someone who has one of these and troubleshooting help. only the yellows come on so I am thinking a wire problem since the red & green stay dark, all of them not just one ,

Sorry Dave I misunderstood. I had one of these - re-ran the wiring and they lit up again properly - it was more a balky 153C connector. Did you see the note at the end that says essentially don't try to replace the bulb yourself and expect it to work... ;)
Don't feel bad, bought one too... worked for 30 minutes, now its stuck in yellow. what to do? looks like you would need to change the electronics inside, however I turned it over and its not servicable... figures...I ran it with track power, TMCC @18volts, with a Lionel IR activation switch, you would think that it could handle this voltage but something tells me it cannot. Read the instructions and no max voltage was listed....so I will either sell it for nothing or leave it in yellow and install so its static... A real bummer too... well its a cheap lesson, and I won't buy anymore....
Got one of those and saw green for the first wire touch and then yellow after that.. maybe a bummer??
too bad too, cause these scale signals look great. Well if anyone figures out the fix, please post....
I've got two of these, so far they haven't died. The red led's should come on when the signal is triggered. I agree that the electronics are the problem-- chinese parts tend to die more often than not.
The MTH clone(and I do mean clone- it's identical to the Right of Way Industries CPS) operates a bit differently-- the red leds are not part of the delay circuitry-- if you apply power to the red wire, the red leds come on-- this is due to MTH using an ITAD's relay outputs to trigger the red on & the green off--
There really isn't much that can be done with any of these electronic driven signals when they go bad. The surface mount parts are normally not labelled, so it's impossible to replace them.
EDIT: I just rechecked the operation of these CPS's, and I think I know what may have happened-- the varible resistor that changes how long the yellow stays on before going green may be open-- if it is, then the yellow will never turn off . Of course, it probably isn't fixable anyway, as Lionel made it hard to get to the electronics--- MTH, at least uses screws to secure the covers on most of it's operating accessories---
A Day Without Trains is a Day Wasted
11 years later and it's still a bummer. I have went through two of these with the exact same issue. Works a few times and then...yellow..just yellow. I don't think this is a user issue I think it's a manufacturer issue. Let's call it what it is, a product that fails when used as directed.
Update. I drilled out the 4 points that hold the back board onto the base. The electronic board comes out enough to have a look at it. The variable resistor looks suspect. I have removed it. It is a "104" variable resistor. In the New Year when our local electronics store opens up I'm going to but a new "104" variable resistor and install it. Update to follow....
