Seeing as I enjoy collecting a lot of different road names the idea was to create a layout that could be "anywhere" USA. Hence a lot of buildings. Dennis Brennan as been a great inspiration!! A few more building fronts to glue to the roll up garage door (really) and I'll finally be able to start the inner loop circle! I'll keep you all posted with the progress. Still super job I don't know if I'll take a chance and try to weather or not but love to look at it it looks so real I don't feel I have the talent to do it. Maybe get some cheap Ho and play with them and then move to inexpensive O gauge cars.
RT, Here's a weathering tip you may want to consider. I went to a local art store and bought a box of pastel chalks. That's what I applied to the crane car. If it didn't look right a simple wipe with a damp rag took it off until I felt I had it correct. Just purchase a nice set that has a lot of gray, brown, and tan shades in it.

I'd be glad to oblige. As far as I know there is # 5030 in a park in Santa Fe, New Mexico and # 5000, the Madam Queen, in Amarillo, Texas. I was hasty when I said it was being rebuilt. A volunteer organization is refurbishing the outside of the locomotive and the plans are to house it in a building as part of a museum. Next time I am in Amarillo I will take some pics and I will be in Santa Fe next month and will do same there. Gotta figure out where to post them because this is the toy train forum. The locomotive that I thought was being restored to running condition is not a Texas type, it is a 4-8-4 Baldwin, one of the largest ever built, former ATSF locomotive # 2926. I took some pictures of the Madam Queen ( 2-10-4 Texas type) yesterday. I need some ideas as to where to post them if anyone is interested. I have them on my personal site already but will post them here if wanted although this is technically the wrong forum. They are large files! Some of you let me know. And, I almost forgot, I was able to take some pics of a working caboose! I thought the Santa Fe had gotten rid of them years ago.
Mike, probably the best thing would be if you had a link to your home page. While I would love to see them posted here, I think management has been having problems with bandwidth and space, or something like that as they have now made the coffee pot a monthly thread because of all the space. Look forward to seeing them where ever you put them.
