UPDATE. It's not that the recordings were bad, I have only Lionel locos and 5 dfiferent LEGACY versions, this BY FAR was the weakest in terms of the different kinds of sounds and quality. i have read those reviews and as much as I appreciate the effort, the sound is no big deal. Whatever. I contacted my seller HOBBY STATION and they immediatly told me to send back the the entire set and they will be sending me out a replacement on monday! That kind of customer service is almost unheard of these days and I suggest that everyone check them out. I will henseforth be buying all of my Lionel product from them. Can't say enough good things about them www.hobbystation.net

Umm... the OGR Forum and the MTJ Forum for two.  The sounds were recorded by Lionel from an actual R-27 at the MTA Museum of Transportation, and the recording session was covered by the New York Times.

I'm just wondering if you got a bad sample, or is this widespread?

Hmmm... nothing but rave reviews from other forums on both looks and operation.  Any other folks out there with this problem?

I received it yesterday and Im disguested by the quality! The rear wheel has already fallen off, various decals and numbers were sloppily applied, several large paint imperfections that were then covered up and made worse over spot painting, dinged railings, etc., This is the WORSE quality Lionel train I have ever had. Should I sent it back to the people I bought it from or just deal with it?
