The Underhouse Times Journal
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, March 29, 2004 11:18 PM
Underhouse (AP) In an effort to bring the railroad to the unincorporated hamlet of Underhouse, the Board of Selectmen have voted to make improvement to local infrastructure.

Today, the first step was completed. American Electric Power announced that the Underhouse Electric Substation has been installed and put on the grid.

One of the Selectmen spoke to the Times Journal..."It is a great day for Underhouse! Soon Conrail must recognize that Underhouse is a perfect location to lay rails, and industries will be poping up throughout the Woodboard region. With the tearing down of the railroad north of here in Rounddatree in December, Conrail must have excess equipment to bring to Underhouse"

The following photo shows electricians (recently laid off from the Model Power Utility Worker Crew) making the final connections. The Times Journal has noticed some hazardous waste drums stored at the site, and must assume that plans have gone forward for the construction of a liquid hazardous waste incineration facility

(Had to post in several forums, not sure where everyone ended up! Thanks to MarkB for the inspiration, and to all who helped with questions on glue, fence, paint and figures...finally, my first scratchbuild!)

"plans have gone
forward for the construction of a liquid hazardous waste incineration facility "

The reason you don't see it is because the liquid hazardous waste incineration facility exploded, leaving just a red X. :-)

thanks Spankybird...can you see the pic in my initial post? I can, and it makes inserting pics hard to troubleshoot if I think they are OK, but no one else can see

Wow, that is incredible. What a great job!

My fantasy scratchbuilding project involves doing a complete oil refinery.

Thanks Dave,
I actually hope to incorporate an idea from a picture you posted...overhead piping crossing the track. Whatever facility gets built next, 1/2 will be on each side of the tracks...should allow for a larger footprint, and another way to get the tunnel effect without actually installing a tunnel
