Terrific Movie On TCM!
Posted by Kooljock1 on Monday, March 29, 2004 7:24 PM
This afternoon TCM ran a movie called "Murder at Grand Central". While it was a "B" movie ast best, it appeared to have been shot on location at GCT in the late 30's-early 40's.

There were many terrific shots and fight scenes down on the platforms and tracks, including NYC motors pulling and pushing heavy-weights in and out.

There was even a shot of the inside of the tower, with the lighted tally board and the all the gear.

It was a goofy movie, but the bad guy gets it with 500v DC at the end!

A while back there was an article in Trains mag that mentioned a movie shot at "Grand Central Station" was actually shot at Union Station in LA, using carefully cropped or angled shots. I forgot the name of the movie and I haven't seen the one you described, but it sounds like a must-see.

BTW, I have fond memories of Penn Station NY before they tore it down in 64 or 65. Also been to Grand Central.
