Hey Joe Polska! I'm curious...
Posted by Kooljock1 on Sunday, March 28, 2004 5:01 PM
Do you ever post about trains here? I've been here either as a lurker or as a regular poster for a long time, and the only things I see you post are about the other mag and their web site.

Do you have a layout? Do you buy new gear? Do you repair trains? Do you find innovative ways of wiring accessories? Do you custom paint?

Speak up man! And no, I don't give a hoot about you being censored elsewhere...let's hear about trains!

Joe Polska is one of the people that I'm glad will be leaving the "other forum".

Joe Polska is none other than our dear friend Hans Zimmer, as can be evidenced by his infamous "Pax" signature, as well as the fact that he used that name over at "the other forum".

Yes kooljock, i have a developing layout that features Lionel trains. Main interst is NYC, NH, LV, and CNJ. There were some untrue and slanderous comments made about me by Bennie and Chris on the OGR forum so that's why I'm here. I prefer CTT magazine anyway.

At least try to be honest for once, Mr. Christopher. You're here because you were thrown off the OGR Forum with each of the dozen aliases that you used. Don't try to make yourself out a willing refugee or a victim of libel (do learn the difference between libel and slander). It was you who libeled others over at OGR, as well as offended their sensibilities to the point that you were thrown off, at which time you started creating your bevy of aliases.

P.S. Did you ever find your "O-gauge kind of guy" (I think that was your expression).

NOW, we did not have this stuff over here and I do not want to see it here. I do not own this forum but, if you all want to fight, go somewhere else. Leave this stuff for somewhere else. Thank you and God bless.

This has become personal, and it needs to stop. Please!!!

I wasn't very keen on this topic when I first saw it, but also didn't feel the need to respond to it either. This sounds like some old stuff between two people who are familiar with one another. If you want to have this discussion, do it elsewhere please, and come back when you want to discuss trains and not behavior.

Thank you.

Hey, don't yell at me...I was asking about TRAINS, and I got my answer. I've made no accusations, nor have I made any inferences about aliases. I was just curious if he had anything to offer about Toy Trains. That's all.

HEY COOLJOC
Its none of your concern what other members interests are or what trains they have!!
Your original post was nothing more than a statement to cause trouble. When you were asked to stop by another forum ,"who tries to "keep peace on this forum"you denied that you were causing trouble with your post, we can alll see thru your remarks! You do that same crap on the other forum, constantly posting what you think are KOOL remarks about other forum members.None of us here need you or your stupid remarks or you...go back over there where your KOOL remarks fit in!!

Martin,

I'm stunned.

I've never been asked to stop anything on the other forum. I've never recieved anything but positive e-mails from Rich Melvin, and I've never been bounced. In fact, I've been a member in good standing there since week one, and almost all of my posts have been either answers to newbie questions, reviews of accessories and sets, or questions regarding TMCC operation.

I've developed good relationships with many, including Jim Barrett, Fred Dole, and even Myron. At the same time, I've interviewed Kalmbach staff as part of The Worlds Greatest Hobby campaign on my radio show.

There's been an awful lot of posting here filled with vitriol and venom regarding people, magazines and web sites. It's rather unnecessary. If we just talk trains all will be well. And that's all I was doing. If you read anything else into my original post then it's your problem, not mine.

Jon, the difference is that you specifically sought out a single member, someone whom you seem to know something about, and asked a rather personal and provocative question.

This is not radio. Joe (or whatever his name may be) really has done nothing HERE, that I have seen to warrent such treatment. I'm not the only one here who feels that this is not really appropriate for this forum, I have recieved emails from other members, calling this topic to my attention.

So, before things get more heated between you two, let's just drop it. People are watching, and they don't like what they see. If you have dirty laundry, let's not air it in public. Please!

In my opinion topics like this would be best discussed through email. Even if Kooljack's initial intention was innocent, the way it comes across is " is your face". If all Joe P wants to do is talk about the other forum then that's what he is going to talk about. There really is no need to "call him out" in public, just send an email.

Don't sweat it Kool. If you dig, I think you'll find that Martin is yet another of the names of Polska.

Big Boy,

It may surprise you to know this, but I really don't have enough time in my day to follow every member of either forum. At the time I started this thread I had just noticed how many threads on the front page all had his handle on it that had nothing to do with choo-choos.

There's nothing personal here. There's nothing negative here. I wouldn't know Joe if he passed me on the street. I was just curious about a guy who spent time on a train forum and rarely mentioned trains. I learned nothing about him from his completely empty profile. And because I did a search to find out what kind of trains he was into, I also learned nothing from previous posts, and thought that was odd. I've made no attacks and cast no aspersions. Nor do I indend to.

By the way, if my profile is not complete enough, I have a moderately sized layout run with a KW, R, RX, and 36 watt accessory transformer. I run five blocks wired through PowerMasters for conventional running, and a Command Base, plus two CAB-1's. I have most of the major LIONEL accessories, and only one piece of scale rolling stock: one of the new milk cars. I have one scale engine: NYC ALCo RS-11. Everything else is considered "traditional" in size. I'm now running the NYC LionMaster J3a, as well as a LionMaster T-1. On the industrial passing siding is a TMCC green/solid stripe GG-1 with a set of PRR Irvington cars.

One of my daughters has the C&O Freight Set from a few years back, and the other has last year's NYC Flyer with FasTrack. The oldest would rather read a book, and that's okay with me.

We're going to Steamtown on vacation. My wife is a hottie. The Schwanns Man makes more than me.

There. Now you know more about me than most anybody else on this forum!

Jon [8D]

Edited to correct my hideous spelling errors.

Gomez,

I hear ya man, but his e-mail link is as empty as his profile. I'm sorry if my tone sounded a bit "in your face", but I'm trained to say the most in the fewest words and get back to the records. It's just habit I guess. And I think that if you'll look, it's not my tone that caused this brew-ha-ha, but rather some of the other posts around it.

As I said earlier, I got my answer from the man himself, and I'm satisfied.

The female gender seems to like the Chessie cat a lot.

& btw, all of my ex's are hotties; I think that one of them wants me, but if we hook up again, I will have her sign a contract indicating a percentage of time and money going to trains.

I went to Steamtown last year and likely will go again this year. Back in 69 or 70, I visited Steamtown when it was in Vermont and I have a lot of fond memories.

Jon, I've noticed that confrontations are kind of a strange way to meet people, but they have been happening quite a bit here lately. [swg] I think that your latest remarks will go a long way toward dispelling the impression that your original comments may have created.

One of the advantages of this medium is that it is impersonal, however that can have drawbacks too. As long as we aren't picking on one another everything is fine. On the other hand, it is easy to hide behind any number of identities and play games.

By reading your profile, and following your link, it is clear that you are a stand-up kind of guy. I like that!! We have a lot of other members here who are a part of this community, and are the same way.

I'm not the only one who got the wrong impression from this topic. I know that it is easy to send a message that was not intended, and that it is important to measure your words carefully.

For now, let' s just let Joe be, since he really isn't bothering anyone. Maybe eventually he will feel comaortable enough to share a little more of himself, this forum is a rather different environment than the OGR forum.

This forum is too laid back for the antics of Howard Stern.[:O][:O][:O][;)][;)][:D][8D]
Its nice to meet you Jon.[:)]

As I've said countless times, the Internet & Email are often poor ways to communicate, absent the body language and person-to-person contact. The majority of people on this and other train forums would fit in nicely in a church choir.

BTW, Radio is a funny medium. Howard Stern gets fired and a week later John Edwards of NPR gets fired from his newshour hosting spot.

Funny you should mention that Dave. My wife is the church choir director, and I'm in the bass section!

It really stinks. I can NEVER miss a rehearsal!

Just a note...Jon is a very nice person and well spoken on Trains and most related topics. I have met him at the Big E. show along with many other forum members. You cant get much better than Kooljock when its a RR discussion or much else for that fact. Thanks all. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks Ave. Say, did you hear about that guy who rescued a crashed F4U from a swamp down south and is restoring it? He spent all this money to pull it out, and now the Federal Government is claiming they want it back because it's so valuble! It went down in 1944 for pete's sake! Whats the deal?!?
