I know this is an old post, but thought I'd reply given I have one. I installed mine on a Lionel Central New Jersey caboose. The original back truck didn't have a coupler and I thought this would spice it up a bit.
Nice flashing red light, with a bit of a pulse to it. Here's a video:

they don't fit the lionel intermodels, unless you mean with the black windshield tape.. Any photos of how you did that?

I don'r know about the item itself but I photograghed a red LED and turn yellow in the picture. The real devices I have seen are red. I don't know the flash rate but I would say less than 60 flashes per minute.
Don is right. Some MTH cars can not use the same screws that hold the truck on. I my case, I use that sticky black windshield sealing rope. A tiny piece will hold the truck on with no problem. They will also fit LIONELS.

Doug,
I picked one up, you need to remove the truck on which ever car you are going to install it on. I picked a container stack car. The problem for me was that the new truck requires screws from the top, the stack car has a piece that screws from the bottom. Unfortunately, they both cant be secured because of interference. I choose to secure the truck in place, and just set the car cover on top.
The light does flash, has a strobe light affect, pretty bright as well. Cannot adjust the frequency of flashes, but overall I am satisfied with it.

I noticed the photo in the Dec. CTT. Has anyone installed one of these? It is a truck with a pick-up roller and a yellow EOT. What does the EOT too - flash or just shine continuously? Is it adjustable somehow?
