QUOTE: What would a power connection be for Realtrax

Bob,
Here's the deal. Power has to be connected to the Realtrax, so MTH made this track power connection to do the job. You take a piece of track, doesn't matter if it is straight or curved and you will see underneath a break off tab. Break off the tab with some pliers and then just plug this RealTrax - Lighted Lockon into the side of the tracks roadbed. Hook the red wire to the red plug and hook the black wire to the black plug on the Lighted Lockon.. (MTH also sells a nice red and black wiring harness that just plugs into the lockon.)

Take a look at this web site: http://www.coilcouplers.com/tmc/intro.html Play around with the animation and in no time you will get an idea of what TMCC is all about, but remember you are using MTH track and therefor the Lionel Lockon with circuit breaker (they don't tell you that, but it's there) won't fit as shown.

Remember in my first post I said:
QUOTE: is to have a TMCC 135 Powermaster connected between the transformer power and the track. It enables you to run convential power on your layout and also acts as circuit breaker when something goes amiss or derails.

The Powermaster becomes the circuit breaker instead of the Lionel Lockon with circut breaker! As I said before, this is how Davis Trains in Cincinnati set up their test track.

Also, do not plug your electrical equipment into the wall as shown in the tutoria, plug it into a surge protector.

TMCC and Realtrax work fined together. Just make sure you are delivering enough power somewhat evenly to your track layout. I think I have a power connection about every 6-9 feet of track.

One item I would suggest because the people at Davis Trains in Cincinnati told me to do it this way, and they do it on their TMCC test track, is to have a TMCC 135 Powermaster connected between the transformer power and the track. It enables you to run convential power on your layout and also acts as circuit breaker when something goes amiss or derails.

I have not fried an engine yet with the Powermaster in place. The napping cat was not my fault!!![angel]

A command base, a CAB-1, and ONE wire to connect to the "ground" on the layout. That's it.

I want to be able to use the new Lionel RS-11 I purchased to it's full ability. What TMCC peices do I need to connect to REALTRAX.
