I'll be looking for J and W Electronics, in the purple hall, to buy more BCR's (battery component replacement). I just got mine today and it brought my Proto Sounds back to life. Great device!

I have lots of trains and accessories so I don't have a list of things to buy. I do however hope to see for myself why this event is so eagerly anticipated by so many each spring and fall. We are planning to get to a couple of bandit meets before the main event Friday and Saturday so it is possible that one or more purchases will be made. I hope to meet several of the folks that have made the forums I read so interesting.

A sunny day with moderate temperatures and a nice bench to sit on while I sip my lemonade.

Joe B.

If and when I go to York (hopefullly sooner than later), I would like to meet many of you.

Second, I would want to have some spending money.

Third, I would want to meet a beautiful train woman at York to fall in love with. I'm sure there are many of those who are walking the hallways gawking at the trains.

I've found that at most large train meets there are few bargains for collectible pieces anymore and that includes York.. The old stuff seems to be priced sky high and I always see the dealers who offer these items as such go home with the items. I can't afford $800-$1000 for an old Lionel F3 so my focus these days has been to find parts and an occasional new piece that strikes my fancy.
If I go to York this year I'll be in the hunt for old ( missing) issues of Model Builder and Toy Trains magazines, parts like a new frame for my Bascule Bridge, electronic horn board, and a controller for a 182 Crane, scratch building materials like Brick and roofing papers, scenery supplies like tunnel portals and figures, Gargraves Track, switches, and anything else used to construct a layout and finally some old RR literature on Eastern RR's. A while back I realized that I had enough vintage Lionel trains and the focus lately has been on building a nice layout.
While many collectors like to display their prize items on shelves; I'm a true operator and like to run everything that I have. I figured that you don't need more than five or six large trains sets to do this and I exceeded that long ago.
