Spankybird and Buckeye, wife took a picture of me on the 1974 British Leyland tractor [one owner, me, with only 770 hours] plowing the garden up. Now the Nikon software goes into error. Un-installed and re-installed and same thing. Sent email to Nikon. Bet I have to download an update. Probably a Microsoft update has screwed up the program. Will wait for answer from Nikon before I try their update [I see on line]. Was going to make sure I did the [img] right this time.

Spankybird,
I think I figured out how to post photos from HP! Let me run a few more tests and see if it will work everytime. Click on the big photo and you will see the HP code I used.

If there are three photos, all different below this line, I know how to post from HP's photo site.

Photo 1 Code: http://www.cartogra.com/sessions/07888799281/36162659lg.jpg

Photo 2 Code: http://www.cartogra.com/sessions/07888799281/36162655lg.jpg

Photo 3 Code: http://www.cartogra.com/sessions/07888799281/36162665lg.jpg

I got it figured out!

Hi Buckeye,

Boy I’ll tell you I have spent many hours trying different codes for the HP Photo. [B)] And I am sad to say without any luck. [:(]

That one has got the best of me so far, but I’m still trying.

Spankybird,

Have you figured out how to post photos from HP's web site? Would the size of the photo be a factor? I use Photo Island and it works, but I like HP's site much better.

BTW, has it quit snowing yet up there in the north country of Buckeye Land? [:D]

Hi Pat,
You can post from this site, but only one pic at a time, not the whole page.

Can pics be posted from Yahoo photo?

I seem to be having a problem.

So far it does not work with, Yahoo, MSN, Epson, & apparently HP.
I think this aspect could be alittle more user freindly.

I know I could go to another site but I shouldn't have to.

Guess I'll have to find a host, first place to check will be my web server to see if I have space there.

Hi Buckeye,

I love the pic of the slide rulers. Boy what memories. I believe I still have mine some place. [:P]

If you didn’t know, your HP calculator uses FORTARN for it programming. I still use my HP 15C which I bought in ’84. Before that I had a HP 25 which I got in ’72 or so.

I don’t think I could do FORTRAN programming any longer, except for the HP’s.

Fortran II was my intro. to computers. We lived with sliderules in school, the EE's wore their 24" ones like a sword, hanging from their belts.

Talk about being a geezer, I remember handing the apple to EVE...fire, and the round wheel didn't happen until a little later...

Needless to say gentlemen, I remember the days before DOS. [8D] I remember hacking other peoples FORTRAN IV programs. In fact, I remember doing trig functions on the bottom two slide rules.

And my HP 35 still works using polish notation. [:(]

In fact, I believe I remember the day they invented round wheels, but I'm not sure.[:D]

Me too!!!

To all of that, except the slide rule part. I'm a little younger, and was exposed to the slide rule, but pocket calculators took hold, and ended all that.[swg]

Thanks Elliot,

This brings back the old days of DOS. Remember that, before Windows?

I just wish I could figure out HPphoto!!!

By the way, I do a fair amount of programming at work. And I’m old enough to remember doing die design BC (before computer and before calculators, like with slide rules, and you may ask what’s that).

I just hope this helps people post their pics.

HI ChiefEagles.

This will work. You need to remove the " " quote marks form the img. Then it wll post your pic.

If this works, you will se what I do instead of working on my layout. Shame on me.

Hi all,

I have seen many posting with members asking how to post there pictures. Maybe this will help. [?]

This really isn’t all that hard. You must have the proper syntax to have the forum software find you pic and post it. Some host are very sentive to upper and lower case letter and spaces. Trying the pre-view will show if you have it right.

So let’s start:

1. you have to have your picture up-loaded to a host on the internet. This forum does have problems with HPphoto. The best of use have not been able to find a way to post pic that is hosted there.

2. Ues the IMG command. The format for this is [“img”]your path and photo file name[“/img”]. This starts with [“img”] and ends with [“/img”]. Don’t forget the back slash on the last ‘img’.

3. Here is an example of how I would post one of my pics. [“img”]http://204.156.4.220/memberpages2/images/IMGP0011.JPG[“/img”] PLEASE note that I used “ “ quotes around the ‘img ‘ so it will not post the pic and you can therefore see the syntax. To allow the picture to post, do it without the quotes.

I hope this helps. [tup]
