New York City Subway Models
Posted by NYSubway18 on Friday, March 19, 2004 6:28 PM
Hey all,

Just found out about the OGR fee [*^_^*], and am trying out this place. Hopefully there are some subway fans here, or hopefully some will come soon. [#welcome]Just saw a pic of the upcoming TCA boxcar for York. Looks like there are two subways on the cover? Anyone have any details? I know we are in the anniversary year, and it looks like it could be a real good one for subway models. The 2 R-12 sets should be out soon, along with the R-32 DAP, various subways on flat cars, and the recently released R-17 red set. The cover looks like maybe the R-21 being re-released in original kale green? But I can't tell what is running on the bottom. Pic is too small. We are also getting the two baseball subway sets. [:D][yeah][:)] Yes, a very good year.

Hey brother. Whats cooking. I believe the anniversary set is going to be a Lo-v. I can't wait for the catalog to come out in April. Good to see that you ordered the Yankee set. I did as well and ordered one pair of the mets add-ons. Its only appropriate for the Mets cars to be pulled beind the Yankees! I'm glad to see that the subway fans have found a new home!

Hey Strap,

Good to see a familiar name. [:D] Charlie's not taking orders yet for the add-ons, but I plan to buy 1 set of Yankee add-ons and 1 set of Mets add-ons as well. I probably could not have been so gracious if the Mets had won the subway series. [:-,] I love the Danbury Mint piece with both cars, so I know I will love this too. Am also tempted by the Yankees F-3 set. Did you see the cover of the new catalog on the TCA car? Looks like a kale green R-21 and a silver subway on the bottom?

Chris, give ready to roll in Miami a call. They're taking orders on the add-ons. That does look like a green r-21. Nice! I won't order the boxcar but will definitely get the subway set!

Thanks, Elliot.

I left a "present" for the HO guys there, too.

Thanks for the "warning" NY, I'll check it out.[;)]

Please don't think of them all as HO guys, just like we have some S and standard gauge guys here, and they have Z, N, O and G guys there in addition to all of the HO guys.

One of the links in that topic, not the one I provided, was filled with O gauge stuff. I would suspect that you may even own some of the pieces in the photos.

There is a lot of material on MR that is not scale specific. Sask Tinplater, Ironrooster, and I will "jump the tracks" freely, and read and post over there, and it is my hope that all of the newcomers will discover what you have!!! Thanks again and have fun!!!

I clicked on the topic link above, and it was like taking the express train, skipping all of the intermediate stops!!! The link you posted was really cool, and I thanked you there in large text, so that everyone would notice, and I'll thank you here again so that everyone who checks this topic will see and follow.[:D]

This is what forums are all about!!!!

Thank you NYSubway18!
