MTH Scale-Trax
Posted by pokorbm on Saturday, March 6, 2004 10:51 AM
Does anyone have experience with MTH Scale-Trax?

Does the narrow center rail provide a reliable power connection?

Any problems with excessive wear on pickup wheels?

The track seems to be more flexible than other types.

Any problems with keeping joints aligned?

How do the connectors compare electrically to other types of track?

Thanks

I've never tried the product, but I have heard others around here complain about the electrical connections after just a couple of uses.

Several years ago when I started construction of my layout, I went to my local MTH Dealer with the intention of purchasing several hundred dollars of Scale-Trax. He talked me out of it due to the damage it can do to the pick-up rollers. I use Real-Trax and it has worked just great! I did need to clean the center rail very throughly to remove excessive blackpowder (?) residue. [2c]
