Slugish Railking crossing gates, is my problem unique, what is the solution.

Hi Everyone,

Today I installed a pair of MTH Railking Scale Crossing Gates on my layout but I am having difficulty getting them to opperate properly.  According to the instructions, each gate should reach the fully lowered position in about 2 seconds after being triggered.  One of my gates works properly, it takes about 2 and a half seconds to reach horizontal position, the other gate takes about 30 seconds to reach horizontal!  Both gates raise at the same rate too, the good gate raises in about 2 and a half seconds and the bad gate raises in 30 seconds!

Why is this happening?  I checked to see if the mechanism of the slow gate is jamming on something but this does not appear to be the case.  From what I can observe it appears that the motor that drives the gate is just slow.  Has anyone had this kind of a problem on with this product?  What can be done to fix it?

Any help or sugestions would be greatly aprectiated!

Thanks

Scott
