Replacing Lionel Contactors with Insulated Track Sections
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 8:33 PM
In the April 1990 issue of CTT, Ray L. Plummer wrote an article about how to use insulted track sections to replace Lionel 145C and 1045C contactors, in particular for activating gateman, crossing gate, banjo signal, switch tower, watchman, illuminate bumper and Lionel #1121 track switch.

In the article, he indicated that he would treat in a future article replacement of 153C contactors with insulated track sections and relays for operating block signals, sempahores and signal bridges.

I am looking for "the future" article.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Ray wrote the article you want, "Surefire, toy train block control" in the next issue, June, 1990 (pp. 70-71).

You might check out www.Three-Rail.com for ways to activate trackside accessories.

Does anyone have a copy of the following article that can be scanned and emailed ?

"Surefire, toy train block control" in the next issue, June, 1990 (pp. 70-71).
