Welcome Steamlover! Tell us a little more about your interest in the hobby... how'd you get started? You do this on your own or with your dad or another relative? The topic of getting young people interested in trains has been talked about a lot in recent years. Lionel trains were certainly more well known during the golden years of the 1950's. Though I've noticed a number of posters on train forums who got their start during the MPC years of the 1970's. Ironically also the last period where Lionel did any national advertising (though I've been told there was a nat'n. TV commecial sometime during the early 1990's).

It's nice to see and hear from some young folks like yourself who are into trains. I got my first set when I was only a few days old and the interest stayed all through high school. Like many others, I forgot about the trains for a while. And then just like many, got back into it big time. There seem to be a few newcomers here on this Forum so feel welcome to post again!

Hello and welcome to the forums! I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun on here! It's great to see another young person on here. I'm 17 myself right now. What type of trains are you interested in? Prewar, postwar, modern? Do you have a layout?
