I have a pretty, blue Airex car. It's short compared to the other box cars.

Hi, I can't offer any help on uncataloged sets that are documented in the Greenberg or other guides, but I perked right up when I read your post because I have this car in my childhood set.  The set includes a 246 Scout loco and 1130T tender, black 6175 rocket car, blue 6162 NYC gondola, coral-pink 6476-25 hopper car, 6017 caboose, and of course the 6014.

Years after I got the set my mother told me she bought it at one of the local department stores.  That was when I was 5, in 1961.  It may have been a leftover 1960 set; I was never clear on that.

Good luck on your search for information.

6014 Airex Boxcar
Posted by MojavenSF on Monday, March 3, 2008 10:31 PM

Hello All,

I picked up a 6014 red Airex O-27 Scout boxcar this weekend for $10 in excellent condition. My guide says it is an un-cataloged car from 1959, but give no further history. Can anybody tell me what un-cataloged sets this car came with and the set contents ?

As Always Thanks
