I forgot about the washer.  I think it's gone.  Same thing happened with my rotary beacon and that was the fix.  Thanks J!

If the cap moves at all, the problem isn't likely to be the vibrator motor. Most likely it is the rubber washer. This washer has three little nubs on it IIRC. I can't recall if it is attached to the cap or the front of the motor, but I'm leaning toward the front of the motor.

The easiest fix is to replace it. I think the one I replaced (4 or 5 years ago) was less than a buck, but I had to pay to have it shipped. I placed a relatively large order to break up the shipping costs, well that and most of my stuff is junk and in various need of repair.

I've also heard that if you dust said washer with talc (baby powder), it might bring it back to life. Haven't tried this, so I can't say if it worked for me or not.

I wouldn't think you'd wan't the vibrator to be tight to the pole, as that would likely make the whole signal vibrate, which isn't very realistic at all :)

Hope this helps,

I love this lil signal but for some reason the drum cap that turns the banjo barely makes it around.  The vibrating drum was loose, not flush against the pole, kinda hanging so I tried to tighten the screw but it only goes in so far and the vibrator still hangs loose so I'm thinking this is the reason the banjo is slow to move.  So,  my question is:  Should the screw hold the vibrator tight on the pole and if so,  why won't the screw go all the way in to make this happen?   It worked good before on my previous layout.  As always,  much thanks!
