I do not have enought knowledge of the model train journalism community to know where on the pecking order Roger and Fred would be placed.  However, it was an excellent article with excellent photography.  Of course, a lot of credit should be given to Dave Connolly.  I am sure it is easier to write/photograph a well executed layout.

Regards,

John

Several years ago I had the good fortune to have Fred over to photograph my previous layout for a spread in OGR.  He is not only a great photog but also a great gentleman.  I should be having contact with Roger in the near future concerning details for an article on my current layout for CTT.  So far I've talked to him a few minutes on the phone and he seems like another great guy.

Two Super Stars on the same team!

Can you imagine if when you were a kid Mantle and Mays were on the same team?

This months (March 2008) Classic Toy Trains has the Toy Train equivalent with Roger Carp and Fred Dole combining their talents.  Roger did a great story on Dave Connolly's tremendous New England Railroad.  Roger is without a doubt the premier author on the toy train hobby and its history.  Combined with Fred Dole, who in my opinion is the best layout photographer of our time, CTT has a "Murderers Row" quality team. It was great to see Fred's photography again!
