accesory power supply

What do you guys think of this option for running accesories?  Seems like a ton of power unless I don't understand it.

Thanks in advance

Pyramid Power Supplies

One of the best upgrades you can make to your 1/32 slot car track is a regulated DC power supply.  Jay offers new and used Pyramid PS26KX power supplies which are very, very popular with 1/32 slot car racers.  The Pyramid PS26KX is a regulated DC power supply with variable output ranging from 6 to 15 volts - this range should cover virtually all wooden tracks and most plastic sectional tracks as well.  Unlike unregulated power supplies, a regulated power supply like the PS26KX ensures there is constant power to all cars/lanes under any race condition.  For example, there are no surges or drops when one or more cars de-slot (with an unregulated power supply, drops or surges can be quite noticeable sometime causing other cars to de-slot).  The variable voltage output feature lets you set track power to best match any combination of your layout, different types of cars and the racers themselves.  For example, you might want to turn down the power for children and/or inexperienced racers.  The Pyramid PS26KX is rated at 22 amps continuous current which is more than adequate for even the largest 4 lane 1/32 layouts.  Prices generally range from $50 - $80 plus $15-$20 for UPS ground shipping to the United States (these are heavy little suckers...).  These exact same power supplies are available from several slot car retailers for upwards of $150!!  Please note Canadian import tariffs make this item prohibitively expensive to ship to Canada (Jay will ship to Canada if you can live with the shipping charges).  Jay accepts money orders and PayPal (if he really likes you he might even take a personal check...).  Jay's inventory varies - for more information or to place an order, contact Jay using this email link.
