Place 1/25 cars near the front and use the 1/32 farther back with smaller buildings.
I operate much Lionel and Flyer prewar sO I am aware of the scaling factor Lionel used....there was none. THe 184, 189 and 191 houses were even a bit small for Lionel's 00 trains but not far off. In my Christmas tree layout, the 116 staytion is great with O-gauge it is a bit dinky with Standard gauge.
I would go with the Lionel City station 124? looks fine with standard and 1/24 cars will look good with that station. Use the concept of forced perspective and let it work for you using the things you like on your layout

Here is a good site to check out. It lists several pages for 1/32 scale. Just select whatever scale you are looking for and it will bring up everything in that scale.

One of the real conveniences of working with SG is that scale isn't an issue. That #115 station, for example, is too small for the trains and WAY too small for the 3" figs. Just try to fit one of the figs into a #184 Bungalow! And then there are the tiny houses on the sides of the tunnels, like the #120.
Most operators use 1/32 cars with SG, as they seem to fit with the trains best, but some smaller 1/24 wouldn't be too out of place next to the largest of the trains (200-series frieght cars in stead of 500-series, for example). A decent selection of 1/32 can be found on eBay.
1/32 or even 1/25 scale autos would seem to be what you're looking for, based on the 3" figure height, and the size of standard gauge trains.
