Cantery System
Posted by Gorgeman on Thursday, January 29, 2004 7:44 PM
Does anyone out there know a good source
for purchasing a turn-key catenary system? I would like
to add to my layout, I don't like the over-size design
of the MTH railking design. I'm looking for a more
scale-like system, that could be added to my Atlas O layout -

I'm not quite sure, but I believe the January issue of Classic Toy Trains had an easy, do-it-yourself tutorial on how to install a simple catenary system. You could check that out.

Actually it was in the February issue, and it was a clever and simple way to get the look, without all of the work. I was wondering if it could be done with a code 70 or even a code 55 rail. However, those smaller sizes may not have the rigidity needed to span the same distances without additional support.

Thanks for the tips. Wi***here was an over the counter O scale
system, that did not require u-build from scratch. The MTH
system looks like it works o.k.,but is more "toy" like in design-
The O scalers must build em from scratch ,it appears !
