Just touch it up with some vinegar, or leave it alone. It adds character. Haha.
If you want original, buy a used frame on ebay, they are plentiful. Im selling one on their right now. I wont tell which one though. Dont want to get in trouble for advertising. Good luck, if it bothers you, i sincerely would recommend just buying a used frame to clean up. Saves alot of work.
The first step would be to use some distilled white vinegar. This will neutralize any remaining battery electrolyte(which is generally potassium hydroxide, a strong base) and also help to loosen up any rust. Don't overdo this, though, as the acetic acid in vinegar can also dissolve the zinc frame of the locomotive.
Once you've gotten rid of any leaked electrolyte, you can use some fine grit sandpaper to finish the job cleaning up.
It's a fairly simple job to replace the battery box if it's really bad.
Picked up some PW F3s that would be great if the dummy didn't have some battery damage. Not a lot, but enough to bother me. If I leave it alone, will it get worse? What is the best way to clean it?
thanks
