Jim I have to agree with the others!  Top knotch layout you got there!

Read the article today while in the meditation room... kinda made me want to wait to start construction on the big layout till I have kiddies... then I thought 'Then you won't be able to run your trains' so much for that idea! Smile [:)] I can always build another with the kiddies if I ever have 'em!

Great job bud!

I've always loved Jim's layout, and he's a heck of a nice guy too...but now that I hear he's a Red Sox fan, I may have to reconsider...

Jim, fantastic layout. It was the first story I wanted to read (and did) in the issue (got it today) and I'm impressed. Keep up the great work.

Christmas, to be exact. All other holidays, such as Hannuka and Kawanza have already passed.

Agreed wholeheartedly!  I just got mine yesterday, and I enjoyed that article most.  I'm not sure the pics do enough justice to the layout--we've seen so much of it here that I am spoiled--but the real story is in the family anyway.

Merry CHRISTmas to you all!

Jim, I'll have to postphone my praise until I get my issue, probably next week when it arrives at my local newstand. Hey, so you use FasTrack... you're allowed to make one mistake! Big Smile [:D] Big Smile [:D]

Just ribbing you Jim.

I won't even hold being a Red Sox fan against you either. I wear sports hats, but could care less about sports. For me, I tell people who ask, NY (Yankees logo) means "Neil Young." And LA (for the Dodgers) means "Lord Almighty." Or if it's a train guy who asks, I might say "Lionel Always" especially if I know he's an MTH fan... can't resist being a tiny trouble maker. Eight Ball [8]

And for me, CHRISTmas is CHRISTmas, simple enough. It would be like calling O-scale, HO instead. Or saying the K-Line S-2 is actually a SCALE locomotive ... and we all know how well that would go over! Arrrg! Black Eye [B)]

Those who can't accept the real meaning of CHRISTmas could start an otherwise politically-correct utterly meaingless holiday called "Happy Snow Day" in February*... I'm sure retailers would love the boost to the otherwise normal slow February sales. And the credit card companies would be more than happy to help folks double their debts!

*PS: If this happens, I want a percentage. Some kid will ask "Grandpa, how did Happy Snow Day" come about? The story could go like this: many years ago there was a forum called Classic Toy Trains and there was this wisenheimer guy named Brianel027 who made this utterly ridiculous suggestion, but a CEO at Wal-Mart read the post, the idea took hold, and the rest is history.

Ditto the kudos, Jim.  More than well deserved.

Rumor has it that Jim will autograph your CTT February issue for $25, including shipping and return handling, to help him fund some layout enhancement.  $50 if you want him to add some personalized comment about how he learned everything he knows from you.

Thank you for droppin' in, fellow CTT featured artist, Fifey! My "little people" are very excited to see their layout in CTT. I'm proud of them for what they helped to create at such a young age. And I love the way the painted FasTrack looks on the cover. A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours!

Jim,

Congrats on getting published in CTT --- you definitely deserve it! Love the panorama shot on page 43 and especially shot # 7 on page 45. Looks like you and your family are having a bunch of fun --- that's what it's all about.  Love the fall colors --- makes me miss Massachusetts in the fall. Seeing you with your family on page 41 --- I do believe that you are truly blessed!
