K-Line K-120 Double Signal Bridge
Posted by jjm on Saturday, December 15, 2007 10:10 PM
I want to add this to my layout, but I do not have the wiring instructions.  Looks different from the Lionel version.  The K-Line has just two wire clips under each base.  Can anyone help me with this?

jjm, yes there are only clips on the underside of each base side. Your GROUND for this accessory is the triangular shaped spring that is attached to the metal rod that runs up on only one side of the signal bridge.

There are several ways to wire this up, depending on how you want it to work. ie: simultaneous operation, block signal. But basically one clip will go to the hot side of the transformer, the other clip will go to the insulated rail or accessory activator, and the spring clip will go to the ground of the transformer.

I do have the original instructions, and if you want a copy you could email direct via this forum and we can work out details.

Thanks, Brianel.  I just want to run it to something like a contactor to make the red and green lights alternate on the two tracks.  Nothing fancy.  I will email you.

Update:  Tried to find your email in your profile, but could not.  Please advise.

jjm, you use the send private message function, and CTT fowards a link to your private email. The other possibility is maybe I could get them scanned to post here. I don't have a scanner so I have to go elsewhere. My next day off is Thurday though (I work swing shfits) and I broke a finger at work, so I have a therapy app't. I can type fine, but handwriting is difficult at best.

Maybe someone else has the instructions and a scanner at home that could post them here if you reask the question to that regard. To me, they look pretty similar to that of the Lionel signal bridge, other than the spring connection on the K-Line tower. The bulbs could be in different positions too. I'm sure if you mess with the connections a little, you can figure it out.

Side thought tip: when you get it working, if you insert two small cut pieces of clear drinking straws into the light holes (so that the cut straw is long enough to hit the bulb, and also stick out a little from the plastic housing) you will see the lights much better. You can also paint the inside of the outer plastic housing piece (it slides off) with a reflective silver paint and that will help enhance the effect.

Great suggestions.  Thanks.

If anyone else is able to scan a copy for me, I would appreciate it.
