CNW - Thank you for the reply and information.

It amazes me that no one else has replied yet, although the post has 160 views!  This commercial was repeated time after time and the jingle has stayed with me all these years.

I sure hope someone else recognizes it.

Thanks,

Mobilman44

I was not fortunate enough to see this 'in person' but the Museum of Broadcast Communications here in Chicago - currently under construction - had a whole mess of older commercials I viewed that included this one - boy, I think it was 2 years ago - in their archives.

Anyone Recall this Lionel Commercial?

Hi,

Lionel had a TV commercial (Chicago area) in the late '50s that while the picture eludes my memory, the jingle is still alive and well.  Actually, sometimes when I'm messing with the Lionel it just won't leave my head.  It was something like:

"That's real smoke a-puffin, that's a whistle you hear, I'm a Lionel (whoo whoo) engineer".

I've got several of the Lionel tapes/Dvds but have yet to see this one. Does anyone recall this or have any info about it?

Thanks,

Mobilman44
