You are right in the ballpark. The 47 was made from 1939 to 1942. Depending on its condition, it could be worth over $150. The 2003 Greenberg pocket guide has excellent condition at $165.

I have a Lionel No. 47 Crossing gate for which I would like some information. I believe I received it in the early 40's, but can't be sure. Does any one know when it was produced? Is is worht anything. It has a double gate and is operated by pressure when the train approaches.
