Made My Day
Posted by gwg50 on Saturday, September 15, 2007 2:42 PM

Talk about coincidence I just went to the Temple TX. Train show looking for some more things for my layout . Cars, Trucks, and other things. I also need some 027-042 remote control switches to be exact. 3 left hand an 2 right hand to finish my layout. I walk up to the first O gauge vendor and there is a stack of k-line 027-O42 remote control switches like new. To my astonishment was 3 left and 2 right. I ask how much for all 5 he said $20.00 for 4. I said all 5 he said how about 23.00 and I said sold . Made my trip. Gary

Man!  That's a heck of a bargain!  Keep us posted on your layout too - always a treat to see how much you've done!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

When your're "into" scenics, really small stuff can make your day. As I was finishing building and interior detailing a News/Tobacco shop, my wife commented that I should have a cigar store Indian out front. I said I did'nt think anyone made them. A week later I came upon ONE, on clearance sale, in a train store. Made my day for $4.

Last night my wife bought new tableware. Lengths of round plastic hollow tubing were part of the packaging. They'll be just right for making 1:48 drinking glasses (I had been using the straws from kid's juice boxes, but this is even better). Made my day for free.

Anyone else have their "day made" for a few bucks?  Joe
