New Haven McGinnis Paint Scheme
Posted by nblum on Monday, September 10, 2007 10:13 PM
Through my interest in N gauge, I've learned some interesting things about the colorful orange and black New Haven paint schemes from the 1950s, which were designed by a Yale professor named Herbert Matter.  There were some real eye popping schemes that didn't make it into final production due to the New Haven's problems with money:

McGinnis moved to the Boston & Maine and would have implemented some Matter designs there but it never happened:

Some interesting historical information as well as pictures of the designs on N gauge Micro-Trains rolling stock are shown at the above links.
