FAO Schwarz Fall 07 Offering Lionel sets
Posted by USNRol on Thursday, September 6, 2007 6:47 PM

Nice to see Lionel's trains sets regarded as the high quality, heirloom level toys normally carried by this company.  The catalog my wife gets had the PE for $319 the Thomas set for $210 and the North Pole Central for $269.  Their website also had the NYC for $400 and change.  Harry Potter stuff in this catalog too but no HE set this year...maybe next.  Hopefully lots of richies from New York buy their kids trains this year...at those prices, us common folk sure won't be getting trains from FAO!

Kinda funny how they photoshopped out the FasTrack ballast in the pictures they show in the catalog...all you can see is the three rails and ties (and ballast between ties) of what is clearly FasTrack.  Bet Lionel won't be impressed by that.

eToys, the internet retailer issued a large hard copy catalog, including multiple train sets.  The only two O gauge sets were Lionel's Hogwarts and Polar Express trains, at near full MSRP as I recall.  At least there are train sets in the main stream catalogs in significant number.
