Steam Loco Wheel
Posted by pointer312 on Sunday, August 26, 2007 3:56 PM
This is my first login. I operate AF trains. I recently assembled a hudson from parts and quarteredthe wheels. She derails at turnouts. AF instructions say press the wheels on but not too close to the engine frame. Since no feeler gage dimensions are given, how much wobble should be present between the flanged wheels and the track. Should the flanges be against the track or some distance away. The wheels on my other locos are not against the track and have some wobble when you move the loco around by hand( that is the flanges arn't agains the track).
