I am No Longer a Floor Runner
Posted by ben10ben on Friday, August 24, 2007 8:05 PM

After several years of planning, I'm proud to report that I finally have at least elevated my trains a few feet off the floor.

Nothing too fancy at this point-just two 2x8 sheets of plywood that served their former life as shelves, both sitting side by side on top of an old kitchen table(ready made base) to give a 4x8.

At this point, all I have set up is a simple O-31 loop. I'll probably expand that to O42 eventually and the perhaps add a second O31 loop inside of that, or just use the center space for a small yard. Nothing is permanant yet-I don't even have any of the track nailed down.

In any case, it's certainly a nice improvement over just running on the floor.

My 675 was given the honor of the first trip around

Way to go Ben!

It has been a while since we heard from you. Keep us posted!

Have you got some buildings and stuff to put on there also?

Regards, Roy

Rats, the Broadloom Conspiracy looses another member in good standing.  Now all the organization can hope for is that your layout will outgrow the plywood prairie and we will get you back! Smile [:)]

Looks GREAT BEN!  Get some clear acrylic plastic for the curved edges so the train doesn't end up on the floor.
