megaone:

The main thing about the TIU is that you have 2 options to power it:
1. use AUX and devote a transformer to it.
2. make sure that FIXED #1 is powered and that will power your TIU. The downside on this is that the TIU/AIU does eat some of the power available to the rails.

with 3 Z750s, run one to FIXED #1 and then run each of the other 2 to whatever ports you want to use on the TIU.

I have read that the Z750 does have some issues running non-PS2 engines thru the TIU. I'm nowhere near an expert on this but if you have trouble after hooking them up consider this comment.

I don't know the amperage ratings or other ratings on the Z750. If it has enough umph to power your train without DCS then it should have enough umph to power it with DCS.

MTH DCS TUI Unit setup?
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 1:35 PM
I have couple of Proto-sound 2 Engines that I will love to control with the DCS system. I have like 3 750 MTH transformers, the question is: How I can setup the TUI unit with out a Z4000 transformer?

I know that I can connect a 750 for Aux. power the unit, but the information that I have doesn’t tell me if this will power or send the signal to the track.

Please advice
