If the parts were injected molded, the cost of modifying the tool may not be worth it to modify to reflect the new name of the company.

Hello Grayson!      You're thinking of "Lionel Train's Incorporated" or LTI as the nickname. This was Lionel's Corporate name after Richard Kughn took over in 1986 & late 1995 Neil Young & Wellspring changed it Lionel Limited Liability Corporation or LLC which gives a company certain Tax & Financial benefits for its own good. Maybe some Accountant here can explain the in's & out's of the benefits better. Take Care.

I see on alot of Lionel products, mainly controllers, say 'Lionel Inc.' I thought that Inc was back in the 80s or something. Why is it on the products now? Excess inventory?
