Postwar Lionel 675 Locomotive

I recently went thru (basic cleaning) a 2025 (same engine different numbers).  Depending on how 'bad' your engine is it may not need 'restoring'.

A simple cleaning of the motor, and contact rollers may be enough to get this running.  Wait 'til you start running your trains....then you're in for big trouble.  It's addicting.

If you have ANY questions please ask.  I'm sure someone here has been there.

     This is a great engine.  I suggest getting a copy of the Greenberg's operations and repairs manual for Lionel trains 1945-69.  They have a good bit of information in them.  It will have the diagrams of the engine, tips on repair and oil/lube/maint.  Good Luck,

Hi, I got into this the same way, I'm still learning too! Lionels mostly run 6 to 20 volts ac, but be carefull as they can leave the tracks and break whives flower pots

Hi, am a newbie to trains and this website, I have a Post-war O Gauge electric locomotive with the number 675 on the sides of it.  My objective is to restore it, purchase track, transformers, contactor, breakers and anything else that it needs.  I have ordered a books on the process of doing the restoration, could someone tell me what AC voltage drives this particular locomotive?

I am really enthused about this project, so if my questions doesn't make a lot of sense, be patient with the, as I said I am a newbie.  The train set was purchased for me while a small boy by my father and hopefully I can get it up and going just as it did many years ago.
