Is it proto 2000? If so you did not necisarially over pay. I wouldn't expect to make a profit, however.

Like DaylightFan mentioned most people here are into O gauge trains.

However I do some H.O. at times and think that you paid way too much for a used Life Like engine!!  Closer to the $25.00 range would have been a fair price, also Life Like is still being made so the some what rare collector's value is not there in my opion.

You might try posting this over in the Model Railroad forum. They are more knowlegeable about the smaller gauges like HO, N and Z. Welcome to the hobby!

hi,

just wondering the value of a used life like produced great northern E7 that i just bought at a local hobby store for $50, it's in pretty good condition, it's just missing a horn on top and the headlight flickers a bit, but it runs quite smoothly
