 Thanks guys. The enginehouse is one of those never ending projects that details are always being added to. Now that Atlas is reproducing the kit. I'm tempted to buy 2 and double the walls so that the brick is modeled on the inside as well. I remember seeing photos of this in an add a while back for custom structures. Built 15 years ago I never dreamed of photographing the inside of this structure or sharing it on something called the internet.

  Yes there are workpits. The Gargraves track ties were cut with a bandsaw and the center rail was removed and replaced with a piece of copper welding rod.

Dave,  I agree with Ray!  Your work is outstanding, but this scene is the best yet!  Yes I did notice you made a work area under the tracks!  Very cool!

daan, thanks for the video and pics of your layout. Night scenes with all the lights is why I love this scale so much. I want to commend you on such a great job with your layout. I did notice one thing that I hesitate to mention as I don't want it taken as a slam on you or your work. Haveing spent a few years on the sea and a light aircraft pilot for many years, I noticed the navigation lights on the boat in the night scene are backwards. Should be red to port and green to starboard. Great layout and thanks. Ken

Thanx for the compliment.. I wasn't sure about the navigationlights on the boat, so i though if I would build one, it would be usefull to note an upcoming boat which way is safe to go by when coming from the front. As far as I know they keep right, so when coming from the front, the green light indicates the safe way to pass when meeting eachother in nighttimes..

My fault is 1) not searching on the I-net before building and 2) thinking too difficult, since it's obviously meant to indicate which side is left or right on the ship itself. But it's easy to swap.

The station lights are built with plexiglass letters jigsawed out of an old machine hatch (we have machines shielded with plexiglass at my work, so if one breaks I pick up the remains for this sort of stuff..) Under the plexiglass letters I placed LED's which illuminate the words from the underside. The sides of the letters reflect the light and give the idea of Neon signs. It took a while to build though, but it was worth the effort!
