The 521-T set is an entry level set made in 1952... sold for about 19.50. Its in the '52 catalogue on the 2nd page. Only had one car and a caboose. Not a highly collectable set like I said before but the 300 atlantic locomotive at least had a diecast boiler which made it possible to pull more cars than most atlantics made later in the years to come. It came with the Texas and Pacific gondola (dark green) and the 638 bright red caboose with no interior light. All equipment had the "link couplers".
Hope this helps
Is it A.F. or is it Lionel made A.F.?
A.F. went out of business about 1969, so anything after that is most likely Lionel. Also A.F. did some O gauge before WW2.
