I've used twist ties from loaves of bread to connect different types of couplers with good results.

I have classic marx diesel switcher need to attach cars to it

I have four Classic Marx engines and only enough cars to run two trains. This in itself is not a big deal except I have a diesel switcher that I love it is three times more powerful than every other engine I own. I am going to go around a small room towards the ceiling running three trains. I also have a lionel set. that will run the third track the diesel is going on its own track. I wanted to use some lionel pass. cars I've seen for sale on ebay. I have bought one will eventually get entire set. Here is the problem deisel only has marx knuckle connector on it is there a way to adapt this to fit lionel knucke connector with out using a lionel teder wich works by the way. It just looks funny for a diesel to be pulling a tender
