It's funny to see the sudden change in depth just by adding a few strokes of color on the background..

I hope you don't find yourself humming the Chicken Dance for the next four weeks.
Great photos gentlemen, you too Chief, except how did you make that fake smoke?
I can't believe I'm doing this. Im actually at a computer fair selling stuff from a booth, but it is kinda slow. So not doing anything, got a Wi-Fi connection and thought would post some pictures of Chris's J Series Engine, I got at York. Actually after these pics were taken is when it got rear-ended by one of the guys in the club. Fortunately no damage. (we were parked on a siding).
The last picture was just before the crash. (Keith called me this am and said he would not ship my 1688 to me unless I promised NOT to take it to the club.)

OK Chief,
Here's a couple of pictures of the layout in Pidgeon Forge, Tn
The front of the store...
The layout had G, O, HO trains all running at the same time, plus an aerial tram
This was their Garden RR
If you spotted the guy on Crutches - he was with me.
These pix were made last year in Bryson City, NC. Had a great train ride from Bryson City to Nantahala Outdoor Rafting Ctr., traveling across Fontana Lake and along the Nantahala River - watching kayakers and rafters navigating Class 4 rapids.
They have a really nice, large layout in the Lionel Museum. Nice collection of trains too.

New power makes it's debut at the museum last friday.
Unfortunately we got pretty busy so I was unable to get photos of the passenger cars I have to run with these.

@Lisa NC, If my memory serves me right, the layout at the end of your post has been in one of the CTT's.. With running water.
Today I painted the ship for the harbour, and the backgrond in the eagle canyon/wetlands area. I don't have a picture of the ship yet, but the canyon I have..
The railroad crossing @ eagle canyon:
Eagle canyon itself:
and the thunderstorm @ the wetlands:
Great photos and videos, Guys.
I always enjoy looking at them on Sunday.

Daan - Sorry, I have no idea since I've only been in the hobby for a year or so. But you are correct about the running water. There are several water features on that layout, most are artificial but one the the corner is a real waterfall that starts at about 8 ft high and ends as shown in the picture below. Good memory. Your layout pictures are great! Most impressive!
A few photos I took at the local tourist RR in Grapevine TX this past Thursday evening.
The original station. This is next to active rail and where the tourist train to Ft Worth runs from.
Here is a SP Mikado they would like to get running.
An operational turntable they rescued from another city in Texas.
Here is the train arriving from Ft Worth. On certain days they pull it with a steam loco. The steamer was in the shed by the turntable and we got not get a shot of it.
Regards, Roy
do you have a plow for them winter trips?
(and thanks a lot for the "chicken song" that is stuck in my head now)
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

I was hoping to get some pictures of my progress for this week's Sunday photo fun. Problem is I didn't have much time, or progress .
raymans - How did you make that "overpass"? I could see something like that on my layout. Did you purchase those "trestles" that hold the track above the road or are they homemade?
perry1060 - Is that real water? It looks incredible! How did you make it? It looks real because it appears to reflect light on the bottom of the bridge.
dbaker48 - Is that a Lionel J Series? If so, how did you get a Lionel to smoke so much?
If this thread is pictures only and I shouldn't be posting questions, let me know.
Perry, looks like you found Laz's 800lb bear on the shoreline.
Nice photos everyone.
Lisa, only problem with the train store up there, they have all MTH and they are proud of it $.
Anyway, hope to add some one day.

Hi,
Here's the table that last year was atop the deck. A windstorm came up and the pressure of the pole on the table caused the glass to shatter into a million pieces, as apparently, there's absolutely no safety glass on these things.
It took weeks to clean the glass out of my garden railway, which is below the deck, as the shards of glass fell between the cracks of the deck. Occasionally, I still see glass there and once a piece got in the hound's paw.
Sears was kind enough to give me a new table, which is behind the umbrella atop the deck. Rather than throw away the table frame, I decided to tile it. I had a piece of Hardiboard (thinner than backerboard and used to tile wet areas like bathrooms), but the hardiboard didn't fit as it was a bit too small. So I joined 2 pieces of hardiboard together by taking strips of hardiboard and running them lengthwise on the table, joining them with gorilla glue and a generous amount of water. Atop these I tiled the table, making use of my wet saw.
For the base, I made a wooden mold and poured concrete and then attached tiles to it to match the table.
The tile cutter wet saw will come in handy again when someday I cut slate to make a scale brick bridge support. The gorilla glue already has proved its worth in attaching wood ties to steel supports for my bridge structure. It has survived 2 years of ice, rain and heat and the glue shows no signs of weakening. The key to gorilla glue is ensuring you soak the 2 surfaces with water before applying; ensure a snug/flush fit, and then either clamp or apply pressure using weights on the surfaces being glued. Otherwise, it won't work.
I'm using this table to try and finish up a novel that will take me away from train projects for a while, as I'm aiming at 3 pages a day (yesterday only wrote 2). But naturally, I'll stay tuned to the forum. At 3 pages a day, I should be done in less than 6 months, if you include rewrites and edits. Got to put some discipline into this!

I sure enjoyed everyones pictures this week & hope I get the chicken song out of my head before next week !! Ta-Da-De-De-De-De-De !!

A friend made all the simulated girders etc from wood
All I did was give him a drawing with dimensions and he cut all the pieces.
I still need to fill in those ugly screw holes.
He also cast the cement walls the elevated track goes to.
lionel2986 wrote: dbaker48 - Is that a Lionel J Series? If so, how did you get a Lionel to smoke so much?
Lionel2986 - The J is a MTH, it is a RailKing from about 1997, I picked it up at York and had it upgraded to PS2. It will smoke you out of the room.
