MTH Norfolk and Western "J" steamer smoke unit pump frozen

Another Question.  Took an MTH N&W "J" steamer out of storage.  A better grade unit. Wouldn't budge.  Tracked it down to the piston in the smoke unit for synchronized chuffs and Puffs, Froze.  Looks like corrosion on the white metal.  Tried a little lube, tried a little CLR to loosen the white crystalized formation, no go.  Other than buying a new unit, anyone ever have any success getting one of these un seized without breaking it?  How much would one cost from MTH?  Thanks again... Dave.  It really was Friday the 13th at the club layout.
