If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I like your original better. Less busy, and cleaner.
To the point.

Did some rethinking on this and redid the masthead and firmed up the home page.
The good news is, it's tighter and I think improved. It also gives me an excellent masthead template, including buttons to use from page to page. The buttons are also vastly improved.
The bad news, I have to relink all the pages via the top link of buttons and I am too lazy at this moment in time.
Only the home page is up now, with no active links in the button bar at the top, but I like it much better both from a visual and workability standpoint.
The text links at the bottom of the page work however, and clicking on any of these shows the difference in design from the old pages to the new page.
Check it out if you are so inclined -----> http://www.lionellines.net/
Thanks zeke - I think it will also be much more friendly from a design standpoint as the masthead is now a single graphic and keeps the form tight.
As an aside, I have had the site up for a couple of days and I was looking at the webstats - 27,000 hits in only a couple of days.
wow thats alot of hits. Good job. I like the way it is. Its appealing but not overpowering. Definatly easy on the eyes.
Give yourself a pat of the back!
I think the whole page looks great. You did a good job on that.
You did a great job on your layout too. Talent.

Frank,
It looks great. It will be added to my favorites as soon as I get home. Look forward to what you have in store for the links.
But now you have to figure out how to divide your time between the layout and the website.
